|Team Rocket 2017||42||17||59|
This game was very entertaining to say the least. At first, it seemed like an upset was about to commence. Team Rocket was pounding the Houston Ballers, making trifectas all throughout the half. Their defense seemed impeccable, as they were able to take Houston Ballers out of their rigid, yet somehow smooth style of play. The sharing of the ball within Team Rocket's gameplay deserves the credit for how they were able to end the half in a blow out. Along with James Nguyen's above par shooting and Mitch Miller's playmaking.
However, there are always two halves to a game in GUS. Once the second half was underway it seemed like the tides had truly turned. Houston Ballers got the better end of the stick from the basketball gods and utilized it to their advantage. Gerry Glover didn't shoot the ball particularly well in the first half, but the second half was a tear for him. Glover's performance was one of the main keys as to why his team was able to complete the comeback and move into the championship game.
Gerry Glover (Ballers): 27 points
Pretty much a slow paced game throughout the entire 40 minutes of gameplay. Neither team really got the hot hand and while some may attribute that to good defense, the thing is that neither team really found a good rhythm. Texas Legends just so happened to execute better in the last five minutes of the game. These guys kept their composure and synced in to find their way into the championship game.
Forgive my bluntness, but I'm not going to spend too much time talking about this game. The score might not tell it all, but this game was lopsided. The epitome of it. Houston Ballers played well from the tipoff to the last buzzer. Ju Ju (Ballers) even had a triple double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Ballers were firing on all cylinders and the Texas Legends had no way of stopping them. It seemed as if the Ballers had too much talent for the Legends to handle. Or it might've been the fatigue setting in since the Legends did have to play back to back games. Whatever the case may be, just know that the Ballers showed up and showed out. Congrats on the win fellas.
Side note: Try to be little more creative with your team name; Houston Ballers doesn't fit you guys' explosive style of play, but what do I know I'm just a stat boy *sigh*
